TWO KILLED AS RCCG PASTOR GOT ATTACKED IN ONDO (PHOTOS & VIDEO)



Tuesday 16th of July 2019 was a sad day for the whole residents of Ago Alaye community in Araromi-Obu Odigbo LGA of Ondo state, as hoodlums and violent youths from a neighboring community invaded Ago Alaye, shooting sporadically, burning properties and attacking anyone in sight.
Among those attacked is a Parish pastor in RCCG Solomon Temple parish, All sufficient area, All sufficient zone, Araromi Obu, Ondo province 10., Pastor Akinpelumi Bodunwa.

The pastor was on his Mission assignment on that fateful day, but was matcheted by the hoodlums and left for death. Concerned residents and youths rushed Pastor Akinpelumi Bodunwa and others who were also shot and matcheted to a nearby hospital, and through divine intervention and dedication of the medical personnel in the hospital he survived the attack.

In a statement signed by Pastor Meroyi Olayinka and Pastor Taiwo Akinro of the Araromi- Obu Intercessors group, “the Church of God especially those in Ondo state, should please join us to pray on the issue of crisis bedeviling various communities in the state, and also remember to pray for Araromi-Obu, as we are admonished to seek the peace of Jerusalem”.

The communal crisis started on the basis of a land tussle between Araromi-Obu and the Ikales, which the judgement of an Akure High Court ceded the land to Ikale people. However, the people of Araromi-Obu challenged the judgement in an appeal and the case is yet to be decided, but to the dismay of residents and everyone in Araromi-Obu, the people of Ikale invaded the said land and held the whole community under siege, preventing people from going to farm and their businesses until the case resulted into this crisis that has led to the loss of lives and properties.

As at the time of filing this report, the Ondo state governor Ogbeni Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has reacted to the crisis by the imposing a 24-hour curfew on the said land in Ago-Alaye community.
